Welcome to NSA
NSA has come a long way since our first AGM (annual general meeting) in January 2004. Our 6th AGM on the 25th of January, 2009 successfully elected a new executive committee of nine members. You can view our executive members profile on our website.
Friendship between Scotland and Nepal has developed over the last centuries and especially since the British Raj in the Indian subcontinent. Many people from Scotland lived in Darjeeling (formerly part of greater Nepal) and you can still see St. Andrews’ cross in churches in Darjeeling. And Nepalese people have come to Scotland to serve as Gurkhas, as students, asylum seekers and professionals.
We have set up several sub-groups eg. Partnership group, asylum support group, women & children’s group etc to take the wide range of our activities forward. Details of all our activities will be posted on our website and would be grateful for any feedback and support you are able to provide us in our effort to improve the lives of some of the most disadvantaged people in Scotland and in Nepal.
